I have a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature with a wide area of expertise including English, writing, history (US/Europe 1600 – Present), philosophy, and social sciences. My teaching experience includes students ranging in age from 10 to 55--I've tutored high school and middle school students, served as college prep counselor, help older adults with continuing education, and taught at the University of Washington for 5 years. My teaching philosophy emphasizes dialogic pedagogy, interdisciplinarity, learning from mistakes, and training students not to be afraid of difficult material.
